MILWAUKEE -- After winning the opening set 25-23, Alverno College lost the next three frames for a 3-1 defeat to host Milwaukee School of Engineering Friday evening at the Kern Center.
The Inferno (9-13, 0-6 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference) lost the final three sets, 25-15, 25-23 and 25-21.
The host Raiders (8-10, 3-2 NACC) tallied 59 kills to the Inferno's 42 with a .192 attack percentage to .131.
The Inferno had 79 digs in the match led by Cali Trepp's career-high 31. Trepp matched Danielle Schilawski's total in the team's last match and became the third player in school history to surpass the 30-dig mark and was just four away from the school record.
Alverno gets right back to action and looks to snap its five-match skid versus Dominican University Saturday. The Inferno host the Stars at 7 p.m. in Reiman Gymnasium.
