MILWAUKEE -- After a full week off, the Alverno College volleyball team has three matches packed into this week's schedule, all three Northern Athletics Conference contests.
The Inferno (3-18, 0-8 NAC) begins the week on Tuesday at Aurora University, hits the road again to Edgewood College on Friday, and then hosts Maranatha Baptist Bible College on Saturday.
Saturday's match is the final home match of the season for the Inferno, and the team's lone senior, Reagan Owen, will be honored on Senior Night just prior to the start of the match.
Aurora (8-16, 4-5 NAC) began the season well, but has had a rough time of it lately with seven-straight losses. The Spartans dropped four matches at North Central College's tournament this past weekend, and lost their most recent NAC contest to MSOE, 3-0, last Wednesday.
Edgewood (21-5, 9-1 NAC) sits atop the conference standings and has won nine of its last 10 matches. The Eagles had won 13 straight, but lost on Saturday, 3-1, to St. Norbert College to snap the streak.
Maranatha (12-3, 5-3 NAC) has also played well, with seven victories in its last 10 matches. The Crusaders haven't played since Oct. 6, with a 3-0 loss against Benedictine University that Saturday. Maranatha will take on MSOE Tuesday and Wisconsin Lutheran Friday before heading to Reiman Gymnasium.
Alverno is still seeking its first victory against all three teams, as its 0-6 versus Aurora, 0-16 against Edgewood and 0-15 versus Maranatha.
