MILWAUKEE -- The Alverno College volleyball team begins a three-match week against defending Northern Athletics Conference champion Dominican University tonight in Reiman Gymnasium.
The Inferno (3-11, 0-2 NAC) heads downtown on Friday to face host Milwaukee School of Engineering at 7 p.m. in the Kern Center, before returning home to host Rockford College at 2 p.m. on Saturday to complete the eventful week of play.
Tonight's 7 p.m. match will be a tough test versus the Stars (13-2, 3-0 NAC) who have won 11-straight matches.
Though the Stars own the all-time series 12-1, they are the only team the Inferno has defeated in conference play. Alverno defeated Dominican, 3-1, in 2006 for its first and only conference victory in program history.
The Raiders (2-9, 0-2 NAC) have just two wins to their record this season, as both came against Beloit College, whom the Inferno lost to just 2 weeks ago.
MSOE holds the advantage in the all-time series 14-1, as the Inferno's lone victory came in tournament play at a neutral site back in 2004.
Rockford (3-12, 0-3 NAC) has won just two if its last 10 matches and has lost two straight. The Regents have never lost to the Inferno (12-0 all-time) -- in fact, they have submitted a set to Alverno.
Live coverage is available for all three matches as both home matches will have live stats and video and MSOE will provide live stats on Friday. Links for the coverage can be found on athletics.alverno.edu.
