MILWAUKEE -- The Alverno College volleyball team hosts Lakeland College this Wednesday in the Inferno's only match of the week.
The Northern Athletics Conference contest begins at 7 p.m. in Reiman Gymnasium on the Alverno Campus.
Alverno (3-10, 0-1 NAC) is coming off back-to-back wins for the first time since the 2006 season, as it defeated Knox College twice this past Saturday in the Alverno Classic. The Inferno racked up 100 kills in the pair of victories, which included a season-high 54 in the tournament's third place match versus the Prairie Fire.
The Muskies (8-3, 1-0 NAC) are coming off a split at a Wheaton College triangular on Saturday, having defeated Monmouth, 3-1, and then lost to host Wheaton, 3-0. The visitor's lone NAC contest so far was a 3-1 win against Concordia University Wisconsin last week.
Lakeland leads the league with 22.3 digs per set, and is second with an 11.3 assists average.
Alverno trails 1-13 in the all-time series, as the Muskies have won the past 12 meetings between the two teams.
Live coverage of the match will include live stats and video via athletics.alverno.edu.
