Alverno Begins NAC Play, Hosts Alverno Classic

MILWAUKEE -- The Alverno College volleyball team begins Northern Athletics Conference play on Tuesday, and then hosts the Alverno Classic this weekend.

The Inferno (1-7) hosts Benedictine University in both teams' first NAC match of the season on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Reiman Gymnasium.

The Eagles (8-0) just defeated the Inferno, 3-0, on Saturday at the North Park University Vikings Clash tournament. Benedictine has never lost to the Inferno and holds a 7-0 advantage in the all-time series.

On Friday, the Alverno Classic, which hosts three visiting teams, begins. Alverno starts things out at 1 p.m. against Beloit College (0-9), while Augustana College (4-2) and Knox College (0-7) follow at 3 p.m. Friday's matches continue at 5 and 7 p.m., while Saturday's matches begin at 10 a.m. The complete tournament schedule is available on athletics.alverno.edu.

Alverno is 0-4 all-time against the Beloit Buccaneers and holds a 1-0 all-time advantage against the Knox Prairie Fire. Augustana has never faced the Inferno volleyball team.
