MILWAUKEE -- For the second time this season, Alverno College's Asia Butler-Yeo has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Women's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week.
The recent award is for events of Sept. 26-Oct.2, as selected by the league's sports information directors. She collected her first award this season for the week of Aug. 29-Sept. 4, and also earned the award once her rookie year.
The Whitefish Bay native went a combined 6-0 in singles and doubles play as the Inferno went 3-0 on the week. Butler-Yeo won all three of her No. 1 singles matches in straight sets, surrendering just eight games (36-8) to her opponents from Milwaukee School of Engineering, Mills College and Westminster College of Missouri. She teamed up with Brooke McBain to capture No. 1 doubles wins, 8-4, 8-0 and 8-2.
Alverno (8-6, 4-2 NACC) returns to action versus visiting Wisconsin Lutheran College Thursday evening, looking to clinch a NACC tournament spot.
