Inferno Falls To Defending Champs

MEQUON, Wisconsin -- Alverno College fell to the defending Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference champion, host Concordia University Wisconsin, 7-2, Sunday morning.

The Falcons (4-0, 3-0 NACC) took 2-of-3 doubles matches and 5-of-6 singles matches for the league victory over the visiting Inferno (2-5, 1-2).

Asia Butler-Yeo and Brooke McBain earned Alverno's win in doubles play, 9-7, over their Falcon opponents in the No. 1 match.

Michelle Alexander and Laeren Yates nearly pulled out a win at No. 2, but lost on a tiebreaker, 9-8 (3).

McBain captured the lone singles point for the Inferno with a 6-0, 3-6, 10-2 win in the No. 2 match while Butler-Yeo lost at No. 1, 6-3, 6-4, to see her six-match win streak come to an end.

Next up Alverno hosts Marian University for a NACC dual Tuesday evening at Greenfield H.S.
