MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Alverno soccer team fell to the Wisconsin Lutheran Warriors on Saturday afternoon on the Alverno Soccer Field. The final score of the match was 6-0.

Alverno was led by freshman Shaye Wolfe, who tallied all three of Alverno's shots on the afternoon including one shot on target.

Defensively sophomore Kayla Kunz and freshman Angela Chobanian held their ground against a quick-paced Warrior attack, while senior Allison Weick made 13 saves in the loss.

The match was evenly played through the first 25 minutes of the contest, as Alverno and Wisconsin Lutheran remained scoreless in the opening minutes of the match. The Warriors broke through in the 26th minute on a through-ball that was placed nicely by the Wisconsin Lutheran attack for the game's opening goal.

The Warriors scored again just over 10 minutes later and took the 2-0 lead into the halftime break.

The second half saw Wisconsin Lutheran net four more goals, including a late tally in the 80th minute to cap off the goal-scoring on the afternoon.

Shots and corner kicks were in favor of the Warriors, while Alverno had 13 saves to Wisconsin Lutheran's one.

Alverno (3-5, 0-2 NACC) will continue league play on Wednesday afternoon for its first weekday home match of the season against Concordia Chicago. The contest is slated to begin at 4 p.m.
