PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The Alverno soccer team fell in a non-conference contest on Wednesday evening to the UW-Platteville Pioneers by the score of 6-0 at Pioneer Stadium.
In goal senior Allison Weick made a season-best 14 saves as she suffered just her second loss on the season.
The Pioneers got on the board twice in the first nine minutes as Platteville netted its first goal at the 6:41 mark followed by another at the 8:44 mark. The Pioneers added their third goal of the half in the 14th minute to take their 3-0 lead into the halftime break.
In the second half Platteville added three more tallies in the 59th, 78th, and 86th minutes to double the score and emerge with the win by a 6-0 score.
Alverno (2-2-0) will return home on Saturday to take on Blackburn for a 1 p.m. start on the Alverno Soccer Field. Saturday's match will be the team's home opener.
