MILWAUKEE, WIS.--The Alverno College soccer team dropped a NACC match against Concordia Wisconsin Wednesday afternoon.

The Falcons started the match scoring two goals one minute apart to take a quick 2-0 advantage. Concordia Wisconsin added to their lead in the 23rd minute off a ball that bounced off the cross bar to the waiting foot of a Falcon player. Concordia Wisconsin collected three more goals to head into halftime 6-0.

The Inferno retaliated in the second half as Alex Bonikowske scored from a ball played into the box. Although Alverno recorded six shots on goal, Concordia Wisconsin claimed the victory 8-1.

Alex Bonikowske collected her first goal of the season, while Rikki Nelson recorded two shots on goal. Shoua Vang, Lauren Gambill, and Andrea Binkley all tallied a shot on goal. Junior Allison Weick saw 19 shots on goal for 11 saves on the day.

"We did find some positives today. Of course, Alex (Bonikowske) scoring her first goal of the season but we also stepped it up defensively in the second half," said assistant coach Neysel Powell.
