MILWAUKEE, WIS.--On a match that was originally scheduled for Oct. 14, the Alverno College soccer team fell to Marian University 3-1.

Marian started the match peppering the Inferno keeper with shots. In the 11th minute, Marian took the early lead on a ball that was just out of the reach of the Inferno keeper. The Sabres controlled a 1-0 lead into halftime.

Marian doubled their lead to start the second half off a ball that found the low right corner of the net. Alverno retaliated however as Andrea Binkley shot a bending ball that hit the upper right corner of the net in the 46th minute. On a ball that was unable to be cleared by the Inferno, Marian found the back of the net again to take a 3-1 lead. Marian would collect the victory 3-1.

The Inferno offense recorded two shots on goal from Andrea Binkley and Crystal Prieto. Defensively, Allison Weick collected 13 saves off 16 shots.

Alverno College have a one day turn around as they welcome Concordia Wisconsin to Alverno Soccer Field Wednesday, Oct. 25 with a 3 p.m. start time.
