MILWAUKEE, WIS.--In a game that was originally scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 11, the Alverno College soccer team fell to NACC foe Benedictine University 9-0.
The game played at Viets Field due to poor field conditions started with the Eagles scoring in the 7th minute. The Inferno found themselves down two goals early as the Eagles found the back off the net off a ball that was mishandled by the keeper. Three more goals added to the Eagles effort as Benedictine headed into halftime with the 5-0 lead.
The Inferno started to get the offense going in the second half as Shoua Vang recorded two shots on goal. Crystal Prieto and Delainey Smith both added one shot on goal for the Inferno. However, the Eagles added four goals in the half to take the match by a final score of 9-0.
Junior Allison Weick recorded 16 saves in front of the net for the Inferno.
Alverno continues their homestand heading into the weekend as Marian University comes to Alverno Field Saturday, Oct. 14 with a 1 p.m. start time.
