Inferno Drop NACC Opener

MILWAUKEE, WIS.--The Alverno College soccer team dropped their NACC opener with Dominican University Wednesday afternoon 10-1. 

The Stars pressed hard against the Inferno finding the back of the net in the 2nd minute. After four more goals for Domincan, the Stars headed into half time with a 5-0 lead.

Alverno responded in the second half as Senior Lauren Fischer found the back of net for the Inferno off a throw in from Rikki Nelson. Defensively, Allison Weick continued to stand tall behind the net. The NACC leader in saves recorded 13 saves to the 23 shots she saw. The Inferno registered two oppertunities to score from Shoua Vang and Lauren Fischer

"Kayla Kunz played really well for us. She gave us a lot of energy out there and that's exactly what we asked of her." Assistant Coach Neysel Powell said. 

The Inferno look to bounce back as they travel to Wisconsin Lutheran Saturday Sept. 23 at 3:30 p.m.
