MILWAUKEE--The Alverno College soccer team were defeated by UW-Platteville Thursday afternoon by a final score 5-0.
Neither team could gain the advantage early in the first half as both defenses stood tall. It was not until the 35th minute that the Pioneers found the back of the net. Five minutes later UW-Platteville added to their lead to head into halftime 3-0.
Alverno found chances in the second half as Lauren Fischer registered three shots on goal while Crystal Prieto recorded one. UW-Platteville added two more goals in the second half to take the victory 5-0.
"I think the first 20 minutes of the game we executed really well," Said Head Coach Lisa Waltz. "Allison Weick really played well again today. She made some great saves and she is fearless out there." Weick collected 12 saves in front of the net for the Inferno.
The Inferno travel to North Park University this coming Sunday, Sept. 17 for a noon kick off.
