Alverno Plays 3 Games In Final Week Of Season

MILWAUKEE -- The Alverno College soccer team will play three games in the final week of its 2012 season. Two of the games are on the road, but three all in the Milwaukee area.

Tuesday, the Inferno travels to Krauss-Miller-Lutz Outdoor Athletic Complex in Wauwatosa to face host Wisconsin Lutheran College in the team's final Northern Athletics Conference game of the year. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m., as the teams square off under the lights.

A second road game in as many days, Alverno heads crosstown to Mount Mary College for a nonconference clash on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.

Finally, Friday the Inferno (5-12, 1-10 NAC) hosts University of Wisconsin-Superior at 1:30 p.m. at Alverno Field for the team's final contest of 2012.

The Warriors (7-7-3, 4-5-1 NAC) are coming off a 7-0 victory over Lakeland on Saturday. WLC has won four of its last six games, and has the fourth-best GAA in the conference at 1.27. Last season the Warriors defeated the Inferno, 3-1, and currently lead the all-time series 7-2.

Mount Mary (8-5 overall) is coming off back-to-back victories with wins against Lincoln Christian, 6-2, and Robert Morris-Peoria, 7-0. The Blue Angels lost to the Inferno, 7-0, back in the first week of the season, and the Inferno holds the advantage in the all-time series 18-5-1, including 13-straight decisions in Alverno's favor.

The YellowJackets (5-12 overall) come to Milwaukee with nearly a week off since their last game, a 2-1 loss to Ripon. UW-Superior is 2-2 in its last four games with victories over Finlandia, 9-0, and Northland, 3-2. Alverno and UW-Superior are even at 1-1 in the all-time series, each with a home victory.

No live coverage is available for the two road games, but live stats and video will be provided for Friday's game at Alverno Field with links on athletics.alverno.edu.
