MEQUON, Wisconsin -- Visiting Alverno College lost a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference contest to Concordia University Wisconsin, 66-47, Saturday afternoon inside Buuck Field House.
A Gabby Hood layup tied the game at 26 apiece, but the Falcons (10-2, 8-1 NACC) held the Inferno scoreless the final 3:25 of the second quarter and led 30-26 at the halftime break.
The spread was increased to eight by the end of the third before Alverno was limited to six points in the final quarter by the league's top defense.
Hood led the way for the visitors with a career-high 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting and snagged nine rebounds.
Audrey Scharmer led CUW with 17 points and 15 rebounds.
The loss drops Alverno to 4-9, 4-4 in the NACC. Next up is a home game versus Rockford University Wednesday at 7 p.m. inside Reiman Gymnasium.
