MILWAUKEE -- Lakeland College visits Milwaukee this Tuesday in a rematch versus host Alverno College in Reiman Gymnasium at 7 p.m.
Tuesday marks the second game of the season's home-and-away series of the two Northern Athletics Conference North Division foes. The Muskies won the early December meeting up in Plymouth, 59-51, as the Inferno could not hang on to a one-point halftime lead.
The game featured 15 lead changes and three ties, but the Muskies acquired the final lead, 39-37, on a pair of free throws with 7 minutes, 31 seconds left in the game.
Anna Boteva led Alverno with 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the floor -- all of which were beyond the 3-point arc -- Devon Gorman added 10 points and Kayla Kennedy eight. Leah Eisner got a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Muskies, as she was one of four Muskie players to score double-figures.
Lakeland (7-10, 5-5 NAC) is 5-5 since the December victory, whereas Alverno (10-6, 7-2) has posted a 7-3 record since the meeting which includes five-straight league-victories.
Alverno is just a half-game back of first place in the division, while the Lakeland is three games back in fifth place.
The all-time series advantage is 14-2 in the Muskies' favor, which includes victories in the last three meetings, but the teams have split the last two meetings in Reiman Gymnasium.
