MILWAUKEE – Entering his second season at the helm of the Alverno softball team, head coach Ben Lipson has announced the incoming class for the 2020 season.
This year's class will feature nine newcomers to the squad, which graduated eight student-athletes from the 2019 edition of the team. The team will look towards the youthful squad to help build off of its 12-win season from this past spring.
Joining the Inferno this fall in advance of the spring 2020 season will be; Karly Amburgey-Hanson, Megan Bradford, Chloe Cech, Ashley Flores, Leah Gamboa, Zimri Lemonds, Seneca Peterson, Jaden Rieck, and Isabelle Torres.
The 2020 softball season will get underway on Sunday, March 8, 2020, when the Inferno open the first of a 10-game swing in the state of Florida as part of The Spring Games in the central part of the state. The team will return to Wisconsin on Saturday, March 21, for a non-conference doubleheader at home with Beloit.

Karly Amburgey-Hanson | Ravenna, Michigan | Ravenna High School | Utility
"Karly is a super utility player who has the ability to play any defensive position on the field and will contribute offensively with her speed and high upside bat."
Megan Bradford | Rock Spring, Wyoming | Rock Springs High School | Utility
"Megan is a player who has upside all over the field defensively and has a great deal of upside at the plate as well."
Chloe Cech | Franklin, Wisconsin | Franklin High School | Utility
"Chloe is a local Milwaukee-area athlete, who has the ability to play multiple positions and possesses upside within her offensive skill set."
Ashley Flores | Demotte, Indiana | Covenant Christian High School | Infield
"Ashley is a utility infielder with a solid bat who has the ability to hit for both average and power."
Leah Gamboa | Anaheim, California | Canyon High School | Catcher/3rd Base
"Leah brings an up-tempo attitude to all facets of the game to go along with a solid bat and the ability to play multiple positions defensively."
Zimri Lemonds | Newburg, Oregon | Newburg High School | Infield
"Zimri is a big-time power-hitting prospect who looks to crush the ball with every swing."
Seneca Peterson | Twin Lakes, Wisconsin | Badger High School | Pitcher
"Seneca is a solid in-state pitcher with a great deal of upside in the circle, who can also contribute with her bat."
Jaden Rieck | Sheboygan, Wisconsin | Sheboygan North High School | Outfield
"Jaden is a quick outfielder who also possesses a solid swing pattern and can contribute in multiple areas on both offense and defense."
