MILWAUKEE – The Alverno softball team took on the Concordia Wisconsin Falcons on Monday afternoon for their Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference doubleheader. In the opener, the Falcons came out on top by an 11-6 score, while the second game was suspended due to darkness at the Alverno Softball Field.
The second game is currently in the top of the fifth inning, with the Falcons leading by a 12-2 margin and will be resumed on Tuesday, April 2 at approximately 5 p.m. in Milwaukee.
The game will resume with the Falcons batting in the top of the fifth inning with the lead and two runners on base. Alverno will look to get out of the inning and string together runs in the bottom half of the inning to push the game into the sixth and beyond as the Inferno look to pick up their first conference win of the season in the early-going of the league calendar.
After the conclusion of game two, Alverno will be right back at home on Wednesday afternoon, to take on non-conference Carroll for a 3 p.m. start on the Alverno Softball Field against the Pioneers.
