MILWAUKEE -- The Alverno College Department of Athletics has begun a search for its next softball head coach as Ryan Konitzer has resigned his position. Konitzer is leaving Alverno to become the head coach at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
"I really enjoyed my time at Alverno and getting to know the student-athletes and coaches in the department," said Konitzer. "There are a lot of hard-working coaches here and I appreciate everything they helped me with. I wish everybody at Alverno the very best."
In his one-year stint as head coach of the Inferno, the team broke the single-season school record with 56 sacrifice hits and more than doubled the stolen bases record with 74 swipes. The 2017 squad finished 13-25 overall and 6-16 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play.
