MACON, Georgia -- Alverno College began its six-game road trip to Georgia with a doubleheader split to Monday's host Wesleyan College.

The host Wolves (8-16) took the opener, 3-0, while the visiting Inferno (6-6) won the nightcap, 2-0.

Ashlie Rossi (3-1) hurled a four-hit shutout -- her second blanking of the season -- to pick up the game-two victory. In just 88 pitches the sophomore right-hander struck out four and walked just one.

Kristin Holub batted 3-for-3 with the game-winning RBI in the second inning while Sam Korn knocked in the insurance run in the fourth.

Andie Vandertie scored both Inferno runs as she led off both the second and fourth innings with her third and fourth doubles of the season.

The Inferno managed just a pair of hits in game one as Rossi and Samantha Chapnick both reached base safely with base hits.

The Wolves tagged Olivia Schneider (3-5) with a run in each of the first three innings, but the southpaw went the distance for the sixth time this season with four Ks and just two earned runs.

Next up for Alverno is a two-game series at Agnes Scott College tomorrow evening.
