MILWAUKEE -- Alverno College's Stef Wilmore and Erin Dulek were named the Northern Athletics Conference Position Player and Pitching Softball Student-Athletes of the Week for games of Feb. 11-17, as selected by the league's sports information directors.
Wilmore (Elkhart, Ind./Central) tied teammate Jamie Villalobos as the school's all-time hits leader to open the season, now at 139 career hits, after a six-game road trip for the Inferno (5-1).
The senior catcher hit .571 with a .857 slugging percentage, had multiple-hits in five of the six games, scored eight times and knocked in seven runs. Wilmore became Alverno's all-time doubles leader with a pair in the series at Dallas, and bagged her first-career triple at Huston-Tillotson.
Dulek (Rosholt, Wis.) began the season with a pair of complete-game victories in her first two starts.
The sophomore righty went 9.0 innings in the 7-2 season-opening extra-innings victory over Austin with eight Ks. In her second start at Dallas, she fanned 11 batters in 5.0 innings for the shutout win, as she allowed just three Crusader hits. Dulek had 22 Ks in 17.1 innings pitched and a 1.62 ERA on the six-game road trip for the Inferno.
Alverno will take a long break before its next action, a doubleheader at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in Indiana on Friday, March 22.
