Alverno drops game to Eagles

RobinsonMADISON, Wis. -- The Alverno soccer team dropped a Northern Athletics Conference game to host Edgewood, 6-0, at Breese Stevens Field on Saturday.

The loss drops the Inferno to 5-12 overall and 1-8 in conference play, while the Eagles improve to 10-4-1, 7-2-1.

The Eagles led 3-0 at halftime and doubled the score in the second period for the 6-0 final.

Unable to get off a shot, the Inferno were on the wrong side of a 22-0 shots on goal advantage.

Inferno goalkeeper Samantha Robinson (Pleasant Prairie, Wis./Tremper) recorded 16 saves in the loss.

Alverno looks to bounce back from its three-game road skid this Tuesday in a NAC game versus visiting Rockford. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.

The junior first baseman had a team-leading .500 batting average in four games last week. Villalobos recorded multiple hits in three of the games for seven total hits in 14 at bats and did not strike out once in 15 plate appearances. She added a pair of RBIs and stolen base and was defensively perfect in 14 chances.
