Fitness Center

Fitness Center The Fitness Center is designed for the benefit of the entire Alverno College community, which includes students, faculty and staff.  Due to space constraints, it is not open to alumnae or the Alverno neighborhood.  

The Fitness Center is located in the AF building, room AF226 , across the hallway that overlooks Reiman Gymnasium.

An orientation is not needed to use the Fitness Center. For any concerns about the Fitness Center and/or equipment, please contact Assistant Athletic Director Kaitlin Pike at or 382.6424.

Employees are now able to use the Fitness Center starting at 6 a.m. Monday-Friday. Anyone using the center before 6:30 a.m. will need to contact Security to have exterior door access added to their ID card.

Hours for the Fitness Center

Spring & Fall Semesters:
6:30 a.m. – Midnight, 7 days a week 

Monday-Thursday: 7 a.m.-12 a.m.
Friday: 7 a.m.-8 p.m.
Saturdays: 7 a.m.-6 p.m. (8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. on Non-Weekend College)
Sundays: 7 a.m.-12 a.m. (11:30 a.m.- 5 p.m. on Non-Weekend College)

Winter Break Hours:
Monday-Friday: 7 a.m.-6 p.m.
Not available on weekends
Not available during Shutdown

Summer Hours:
Monday-Friday: 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
Not available on weekends

*Please check for any additional closings due to team practices, workshops or other scheduled events.

Policies for the Fitness Center

  • No children under the age of 17.
  • Wear proper attire, including shirt and shoes.  Please bring a pair of indoor workout shoes to wear on the equipment to help with maintenance.  This is especially important in the winter months to prevent salt damage, which ruins machines!
  • No eating or food is allowed.  Use only plastic containers with lids for beverages.
  • Keep gym bags and clothing off the floor and equipment.  Use lockers provided.
  • Alverno College assumes no responsibility for injuries incurred or medical complications resulting from use of equipment in the Center.
  • Please re-rack your weights and wipe down equipment after use.
  • Be prepared to show your I.D., if asked, to verify that you are a current student, faculty or staff member.
