MILWAUKEE – The Alverno College Department of Athletics is excited to announce the newest class of the Athletics Hall of Fame, with four student-athletes comprising the fifth group of inductees as part of the Class of 2018.
This year's class features soccer sensation Nava Moniriarani, softball slugger Ashleigh Sagat, basketball standout Kristen Speerschneider, and softball force Jamie Villalobos.
"This is an amazing class of student-athlete alumnae who have permanently left their mark on Alverno Athletics," said Heather Parkinson, Director of Athletics. "They were impactful players who contributed to the growth and success of their respective programs as well as the department. I cannot speak highly enough of these women; it will be an honor to recognize and celebrate Jamie, Kristen, Ashleigh, and Nava for their accomplishments."
The night of Saturday, October 6, will begin with the Light Up the Night Dinner & Auction, inside the Sister Joel Read Center, Bucyrus Conference Center. The cocktail hour begins at 5:30 p.m. and will feature a silent auction and raffle, followed by dinner as well as a student-athlete speaker in advance of the hall of fame induction ceremony.
The four honorees will be recognized with plaques, while their names will be forever immortalized in the Alverno College Athletics Hall of Fame located on the lower level of the Athletics & Fitness Center.

Nava Moniriarani '16
Moniriarani was a part of the Inferno soccer team from 2010-13. In her four seasons with the program she was named an All-Conference second team selection as both a junior and senior following two seasons of Honorable Mention recognition from the league. The four-year soccer Most Valuable Player was selected as the Alverno Student-Athlete of the Year Award winner in 2014 following her selection as Newcomer of the Year in 2011.
Moniriarani is the program's all-time leader in points with 125, including 38 goals and a program-record 49 assists in her record 80 career games played in an Alverno uniform. As the only player in program history to attempt over 300 career shots, Moniriarani is third all-time in goals including a dozen goals as both a junior and a senior. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in Integrated Studies in 2016.
Ashleigh Sagat '14
Sagat joined the Inferno softball team in 2011 and played four seasons. Appearing in 133 career contests, she was selected to the All-Conference First Team as a senior, and earned All-Conference Honorable Mention honors as a junior. In addition to her conference accolades, Sagat was selected as the recipient of the Sister Margaret Mary Martin Award and was also the team's Most Valuable Player as a senior.
Sagat is still revered as one of the top hitters in program history and is the program leader with 114 career RBIs. She has the third-highest hit total with 148 for a career .367 batting average, and is second all-time with 14 career home runs. With 94 runs scored in four seasons she is third in program history, while also finishing her career sixth in doubles (27). Also a four year member of the soccer team, she graduated with honors in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in Biology.
Kristen Speerschneider '14
Speerschneider was a member of the Inferno basketball program from 2010-2014. In her four years and program-record 104 contests, she was recognized for her efforts on the court with All-Conference second team honors as a senior following Honorable Mention accolades from the league as a junior. In addition to her conference honors, she received the Inferno Award for three of her four years at Alverno.
Throughout her career, Speerschneider was the all-time leader in minutes played with over 3,400 minutes on the court. She holds the program record for career steals with 219, including a single-season mark of 71 as a senior, and is also second all-time with 327 assists. Offensively she totaled 808 points, connecting on 244 field goals, including 122 three-point baskets. Also a member of the inaugural golf team, she graduated with honors in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in Biology.
Jamie Villalobos '14
Villalobos was a member of the Inferno softball team from 2010-2013 and was an All-Conference Second Team selection as a senior, while also earning the Virginia Wagner Award in 2013. The two-way star shined both at the plate and in the pitcher's circle for Alverno and is tied for the most games played in program history with 154 career appearances.
At the plate she is second all-time in hits with 177 and is eighth all-time in batting average, hitting .350 in 505 career at bats. She is second all-time in runs scored (95), fourth all-time in doubles (29), and sixth all-time in RBIs (67). As a pitcher she amassed 20 wins and 224 strikeouts while tossing 358 2/3 innings, all of which are fourth most in program history. Also a member of the inaugural golf team, she graduated in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in Nursing.
