Alverno College and A'viands combine to feed 12,600 people

MILWAUKEE, WIS.—The Alverno College Student Athlete Advisory Committee partnered with A’viands and donated 400 turkeys and other non-perishable items to Hunger Task Force Tuesday afternoon.

The 400 turkeys will feed approximately 7,300 people. A’viands, Alverno College’s dining service provider matched every dollar donated and helped purchase the turkeys. This marks the eighth year A'viands has matched funds and the 12th year Alverno College has made a Thanksgiving donation to Hunger Task Force.

This year, Alverno College and A'viands combined to feed 12,600 people. Donations will be used for the Cans Across the Conference food drive competition held by the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.

“Our student-athletes take pride in Cans across the Conference. The support from our students, faculty and staff is amazing. I would like to thank A'viands for their continued support and purchasing 400 turkeys this year,” said Jessica Ott, Director of Athletics.
