NACC Honors Alverno With Sportsmanship Award For Fifth Time

2016-17 NACC Women's Sportsmanship Award

As voted on by Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference head coaches and approved by the Directors of Athletics Standing Committee, Alverno College was honored with the NACC Women's Sportsmanship Award for the 2016-17 academic year.

Additionally, the NACC All-Sportsmanship Team was announced which included six student-athletes from Alverno.

The Inferno has now won the NACC Sportsmanship award five times, including three of the last four years. Alverno was honored with the award the first two years of the league, 2006-07 and 2007-08, also in back-to-back years in 2013-14 and 2014-15.

In addition, the school was presented with the award in the former Lake Michigan Conference's final two years of existence, 2004-05 and 2005-06.

Alverno's selections on the 2016-17 All-Sportsmanship Team included Katelyn Bartlett (basketball and golf), Lauren Fischer (soccer), Kristin Holub (softball), Libby Kent (tennis), Amy Naborowski (cross country), and Jessica Wewers (volleyball).

The All-Sportsmanship Team was selected by the head coaches, and chosen based on the principles of sportsmanship as promoted by the NACC and NCAA.
