The weather has delayed Alverno's regular season finale at Rockford to Tuesday. This is the second postponement for the series.
The Inferno (12-24, 5-15 NACC) is fresh off a doubleheader sweep of Edgewood College -- 3-1, 7-5 -- last Friday. The squad looks to end the season on a winning streak with two against the host Regents to close out play.
Rockford (6-30, 1-19) has lost its last six including a sweep by Lakeland University --12-0, 4-2 -- on Friday.
Alverno has won six of the last eight versus the Regents and trails the all-time series 12-17.
Alverno (11-12) begins the postseason by hosting MSOE (6-10) in a NACC first-round contest Tuesday evening inside Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
The Inferno, who finished third in the league standings with a 7-2 NACC record, is making its third straight appearance in the NACC Tournament while the Raiders, who finished in a tie for fifth at 4-5, are making their first appearance since 2012 and second overall.
Alverno swept MSOE, 9-0, in the regular season meeting and leads the all-time series 5-3.
The first-round winner will advance to Sunday's semifinal round in Madison. Should Alverno win, it will face second-seeded Edgewood College, while the Raiders would face top-seeded Concordia University Wisconsin should they pull off the upset.
Marian University hosts Aurora University in the other first-round contest.
