Alverno (7-9, 7-4 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference) rides its three-game winning streak into a busy three-game week. In the Inferno's lone game of last week, the team topped Concordia University Chicago, 63-59, on the road to complete the season sweep.
Tuesday's opponent Aurora (3-14, 2-10 NACC) is also coming off a victory -- 77-58 against Marian on Saturday. The win snapped the Spartans' six-game skid. Alverno is 5-11 in the all-time series including this month's 54-50 win at Aurora.
Thursday the Inferno host perennial NACC power, Wisconsin Lutheran (10-5, 10-1) who currently sits atop the league standings. The Warriors have won five of six including Saturday's 69-63 overtime win at Milwaukee School of Engineering. Their lone loss during the sample was at Concordia University Wisconsin. WLC leads the all-time series with the Inferno, 21-2, and has won the last five matchups.
After the two-game home stint, Alverno travels to Marian (3-13, 2-9) for a Saturday afternoon contest. The Sabres have lost their last three games and five of the last six. The Inferno has topped Marian in the past two meetings but is still 10-18 versus the Sabres all-time.
