The Inferno basketball team is finally back in action with a pair of games after two and a half weeks off, this week in Alverno College Athletics.
Thursday, Dec. 29
- 2 p.m., Basketball at University of Wisconsin-Superior
Saturday, Dec. 31
- 2 p.m., Basketball vs. Edgewood College
The Inferno hasn't played since a Dec. 10 setback at Lakeland University after snow postponed a home contest with Benedictine University to Jan. 5.
Alverno (2-6, 2-2 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference) closes out its nonconference slate Thursday at UW-Superior before hosting Edgewood on New Year's Eve in NACC play.
The Yellowjackets (8-3) have rattled off seven straight wins as they began Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play with a 5-0 record including an 86-60 victory over Martin Luther College on Dec. 17.
The Eagles (0-9, 0-4 NACC) are still seeking their first win after a rough start to the season. Edgewood lost a pair of games at the Daytona Beach Shootout on Dec. 20-21 including its closest margin in the final game, 51-41 against Cabrini College.
UW-Superior has won the last three meetings to go up 3-1 in the all-time series, while Edgewood leads 16-8 although Alverno has won the last two contests and six of the last nine.
