After four straight home games to open the season, the Inferno basketball team hits the road for a pair of contests, this week in Alverno College Athletics.
Monday, Nov. 28
- 6 p.m., Basketball at Luther College
Saturday, Dec. 3
- 7 p.m., Basketball at Milwaukee School of Engineering
Alverno (1-3, 1-0 NACC) picked up its first win of the season Saturday, a 58-55 victory over Concordia University Chicago in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference opener.
The Inferno's season-opening four-game homestand has ended, and a pair of road games are up next.
Monday's nonconference tilt is set for 6 p.m. in Decorah, Iowa, against host Luther. The Norse, the defending Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champion, have started the season 1-3, including a recent 99-90 win over the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
Luther and Alverno have shared just one common opponent, No. 22 UW-Stevens Point. The Pointers defeated the Inferno 64-42 in the season opener and topped the Norse 66-51 three days later.
Alverno then gets back to conference action Saturday and heads crosstown to MSOE, head coach Jessica Ott's former squad, to duke it out for the Red Rivalry Cup.
The Raiders (1-2, 0-2 NACC) opened the season with a 10-point non-league win over Lake Forest College, but have lost a pair of NACC road games, 73-56 to Concordia Chicago and 74-58 to Wisconsin Lutheran College.
Monday will be the first-ever meeting between Alverno and Luther, while MSOE leads the all-time series 17-12 with wins in the last three sessions.
Both opponents will provide live video broadcasts and live stats, with links available on athletics.alverno.edu.
