Inferno Basketball
Alverno opens the season with four straight home games, including three this week, two of which are against ranked opponents. The Inferno was 14-11 last season and finished seventh in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.

The season begins against 22nd-ranked UW-Stevens Point Tuesday night. The Pointers were 21-8 overall last year and made it to the second round of the NCAA III Women's Basketball Championship Tournament after a third-place finish in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

The Inferno will host Ripon in the Inferno Classic Friday evening, the Red Hawks' season opener. Ripon was 14-10 last season and finished fourth in the Midwest Conference.

UW-Oshkosh and Iowa Wesleyan will open the Inferno Classic Friday before the Inferno-Red Hawks tilt.

Saturday's opponent, the Titans, are ranked No. 14 in the Top 25 Poll, and also advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament like their conference foe UWSP. UWO was 23-6 last year and finished second in the WIAC and won the league tournament for the third consecutive season.

The IWU Tigers finished last season 20-8 and third in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Alverno has never faced Ripon, and this will be just the second meetings against Stevens Point and Oshkosh. UWSP won the last meeting back in 2011, as did UWO the same season.
