Inferno Cross Country
The Inferno cross country team concludes its season at the 2016 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Cross Country Championships Saturday at Greenfield Park in West Allis.
Alverno is coming off a 10th-place finish at the Wisconsin Private Colleges Championships on Oct. 15 and will look to improve on the program's three straight 10th-place finishes at the NACC Championships.
Alverno (5-10, 1-8 NACC) returns home for its final two contests of the season after a four-game road swing that ended Saturday with a 6-1 loss at Illinois Institute of Technology.
Monday the Inferno hosts North Park (4-9-1) on Senior Day. The six Alverno seniors will be honored during a half-time ceremony. The Vikings are coming off back-to-back wins over Rockford University and Lawrence University.
Wednesday's season-ending opponent, Aurora (6-8-2, 5-3-1), has won three straight and has secured a spot in the NACC Tournament.
Monday's nonconference meeting with North Park will be the first against the Vikings since the 2005 season. NPU lead the all-time series 3-0, while the Spartans are 10-0 versus the Inferno.
Both games will have live video and live stats, with links available on athletics.alverno.edu.
