Inferno Cross Country
After two weeks off, the Inferno runners get back to action as the team hosts the 2015 Wisconsin Private Colleges Championships at Sheridan Park in Cudahy. The event will feature 14 women's teams and 11 men's teams from the state.
Alverno (1-10, 0-6 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference) looks to snap its current skid as it begins a five-game homestand with three contests this week.
The Falcons (9-1-2, 5-0 NACC), who visit Wednesday, have won seven straight games. Saturday's opponent, the Cougars (5-8, 3-3) have won their last three games.
Sunday the Inferno hosts the Lions (1-8), who have lost their last four contests, in nonconference action.
In the all-time series, Alverno is 0-13 versus CUW, 1-13-1 against CUC, and an undefeated 4-0 versus Finlandia.
All three games will be broadcast live on athletics.alverno.edu.
After a 1-2 week, Alverno (7-16, 0-6 NACC) is still seeking its first league win of the season.
The Inferno will get two opportunities this week as the squad travels downtown to MSOE (9-12, 0-6) Friday night, and hosts Wisconsin Lutheran (7-14, 1-5) Saturday in Reiman Gymnasium.
The Raiders have lost their last 11 matches after beginning the season 9-1, while the Warriors are 4-4 in their last eight.
Alverno trails in both all-time series, 1-18 to MSOE and 0-21 to WLC.
Both matches will have live broadcasts with links available on athletics.alverno.edu.
