GalstadMILWAUKEE -- The Alverno College women's basketball team will look to snap its three-game losing streak with three games this week, including two home contests.

The Inferno open play on Tuesday at Lakeland College, and then host Wisconsin Lutheran College on Thursday night, followed by Benedictine University on Saturday night. All three games are scheduled for a 7 p.m. tipoff.

After a convincing 49-38 victory at Concordia University Chicago on January 7, the Inferno has lost three-straight games, including two on the road. Most recently the Inferno lost at MSOE on Saturday in the 'Red Rivalry Game', 69-57.

On Tuesday up in Plymouth, Wis., the Inferno (5-11, 2-8 Northern Athletics Conference) will get a chance to redeem a 70-53 home loss to the Muskies from the second week of the season. The Muskies (10-6, 5-5) are currently tied for fourth place in the NAC North Division and have lost two of their last three, including a 56-53 home loss to Maranatha last Monday.

Thursday the Inferno returns home to face conference-undefeated Wisconsin Lutheran (13-3, 10-0) in another rematch. Alverno lost to the Warriors, 81-51, at WLC on Nov. 30, in the second conference game of the season.

The Warriors have won seven-straight games, looking to make it eight versus Marian University on Tuesday night. WLC leads the league with a plus-7.4 rebounding margin, one of the Inferno's weaknesses in recent games.

Benedictine (5-12, 2-8) will make its way to Reiman Gymnasium on Saturday after hosting Aurora University on Tuesday. It will be the Inferno's and Eagles' only scheduled meeting of the season, as Benedictine competes in the NAC South Division. Last year, the Inferno got best of the Eagles with a 57-50 victory down in Lisle, Ill.

The Eagles are just 1-4 in their last five games and 3-7 in the last 10, but boast the NAC's best free-throw percentage at 73.6.

Alverno trails in all three all-time series -- 2-12 versus Lakeland, 1-14 versus WLC, 2-10 against Benedictine -- but have combined for all five of the wins in the last three seasons.

Live coverage is available for all three contests, with Lakeland providing live video and stats for Tuesday, and athletics.alverno.edu providing live webcasts for the pair of games in Reiman Gymnasium.
