MILWAUKEE -- Alverno College will travel downtown to Milwaukee School of Engineering's Kern Center for the second annual Red Rivalry Game this Saturday, 7 p.m.
The two Northern Athletics Conference and crosstown rivals will play for the Red Rivalry Cup for the second year, as the Inferno came away with the right to hold the trophy with a 63-57 victory last January in Reiman Gymnasium, the teams' only meeting last season.
The Raiders are currently 9-5 overall, lead the South Division with a 6-2 NAC record, and will host Concordia University Chicago on Wednesday night, while the Inferno (5-10, 2-7 NAC) aren't in action again until Saturday.
MSOE recently lost at Concordia University Wisconsin, 69-57, snapping its three-game winning streak. Earlier in the season, the Raiders won six-straight contests, and have yet to lose at home (6-0).
The hosts have the top defensive average in the league, holding opponents to 52.7 points per game and have held opponents to under 50 points on eight occasions. The Inferno has reached at least 50 points in 11 of its 15 games.
The two Milwaukee rivals have split the last six contests, 3-3, and the Raiders lead the all-time series 13-7.
