KontowskiMILWAUKEE -- Basketball student-athlete Alicia Kontowski (South Milwaukee, Wis.) has been named Alverno Athlete of the Week for events that took place January 9-15.

The senior guard/forward tied her career-high and also had the game-high with 22 points versus Edgewood on Tuesday, the team's only game of the week. Kontowski shot 6-of-10 from the field, including 5-of-8 from the 3-point arc. Her five treys also tied her career best mark from downtown.

She also grabbed five rebounds and dished out an assist in the game.

The Inferno (5-9, 2-6 Northern Athletics Conference) hosts Dominican University tonight at 7 p.m. in Reiman Gymnasium. The two teams are teaming up at the game in an effort to raise awareness and donations for the MDA Muscle Walk.
