Alverno's Kontowski Receives Honorable Mention From NAC

KontowskiMILWAUKEE -- The Northern Athletics Conference announced the all-conference awards for the 2011-12 women's basketball season and Alverno College senior-forward Alicia Kontowski received honorable mention of the All-NAC teams.

Additionally, Hannah Galstad represented the Inferno on the All-Sportsmanship team.

Alverno's Jensen Garners National Recognition On D3hoops.com Team Of The Week

JensenMILWAUKEE -- Alverno College's Alyssa Jensen (Cudahy, Wis.) was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week, the national news source announced Tuesday morning. The honor is for games played during the week of February 13-19.

The Team of the Week presented by Scoutware is D3hoops.com's weekly honor roll, in its 15th season of recognizing the top performance at each of the five positions from the previous week. This is the final Team of the Week of the 2011-12 season.

Jensen Named Alverno Athlete Of The Week

JensenMILWAUKEE -- Basketball student-athlete Alyssa Jensen (Cudahy, Wis.) has been named Alverno Athlete of the Week for events that took place February 13-19.

The senior forward averaged a double-double with 18.0 points and 11.7 rebounds and set her career-high in both points and rebounds as the Inferno went 2-1 on the week.

The junior first baseman had a team-leading .500 batting average in four games last week. Villalobos recorded multiple hits in three of the games for seven total hits in 14 at bats and did not strike out once in 15 plate appearances. She added a pair of RBIs and stolen base and was defensively perfect in 14 chances.
