Sister Margaret Mary Martin Award

Sister Margaret Mary Martin was a pioneer in women’s athletics and the chair of the Physical Education Department at Alverno. She was a faculty member from 1938-1971 and obtained two Master’s degrees during her time, a Master of Arts in History and a Master of Science in Physical Education.

The Sister Margaret Mary Martin Award is presented to a person that contributes to the advancement of Alverno Athletics and given at the discretion of the Director of Athletics.

Alverno Athlete of the Week

Kochanowski
Kelsey Kochanowski

So. ● F ● Soccer
Kochanowski set a single-game school record and had a game-winning double-overtime goal as the Inferno went 2-0 on the week. In a 6-0 win over Mt. Mary, Kochanowski scored the first five goals of the game and assisted on the final one for 11 total points, breaking the previous single-game record of 10. On Saturday in a 2-1 double-overtime win at North Central (Minn.) she knocked in the game winner in the 109th minute for the victory.
